Boys Sunday night game play 7v7.  6 weeks of games for established teams or  if you are not part of a team you will be placed on a team.

Monday Nights - 5 Weeks

These clinics are for boys grades 8-12.  Please see Boys clinics for younger players working on skills. 


MONROE LACROSSE SPRING SEASON

Monroe Lacrosse Spring Program

Monroe Lacrosse Spring Season for both boys & girls grades 3-8 opens the first week of March.

Our Practices are held three times a week starting at the Monroe High School fields, then are moved to Veteran’s Park, Ave. K fields in April. All home games are played at Veteran’s Park. Ave. K fields. Games are held both weekdays and weekends. Games continue into early May, culminating in conference playoffs.

Spring registration opens in January with early bird discounts. We also offer sibling discounts with  regular registration.

Our Little Laxers Program begins in April and runs for 8-10 weeks. Our Little Laxers Programs welcome players Pre-K to grade 2.




Monroe Rec Lacrosse

Our MissionMonroe Rec Lacrosse is a community-based lacrosse program dedicated to increasing the exposure and enjoyment of the game of lacrosse to children in and around the community of Monroe, NJ. Boys and girls teams grades K-8.

Our goal is to place a lacrosse stick in every child’s hand within the community and to teach train and involve the larger community in supporting what we consider to be the greatest game in the world. 

The lacrosse season begins the first week of March and runs through the end of May. Our Registration for the Spring Season, grades K-8, opens mid-December. 

Monroe Lacrosse will offer fall 7v7 games, little laxer clinics and winter clinics.

Congratulations to Director of Coaching Joe Garavente who has been selected to be a member of the Johns Hopkins Lacrosse Board!

Congratulations to Director of Coaching Joe Garavente who has been selected to be a member of the Johns Hopkins Lacrosse Board! The Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Men's and Women's programs and implement directives to maximize the experience of the Hopkins Student Athletes.

Coach G was a High School All American-lacrosse player at Uniondale High School in New York. He graduated from Johns Hopkins with a BES in Electrical Engineering and was a member of two NCAA Championship lacrosse teams at John Hopkins and is a 3-year Captain of Pod for Johns Hopkins Mentoring Program. He received his MBA from JL Kellogg Business School at Northwestern University, where he was Head Coach for Northwestern Club Team for two seasons.  He is an active member of the Monroe Rec and HS lacrosse programs and is a resident here in Monroe. He is a proud father of two girls, two boys and grandfather of three.  

Coach Joe Garavente is currently an Assistant Coach for the Monroe High School Lacrosse Program. He has been an integral part of the Monroe coaching staff since 2008, overseeing the transition from a new lacrosse program to one of the top programs in Central New Jersey.  His accomplishments with Monroe High School Lacrosse include Two Time GMC Assistant Coach of the Year, Nine GMC Finals, Five Consecutive GMC Championships- six in last seven seasons. 

 Coach G has been the Vice President of Central Jersey Youth Lacrosse League since 2011.  Co-leading the effort to standardize rules, originated a playoff system and All-Star game for grades 5-8 for a 16 towns group. He is a leader in providing clinics and ongoing education for coaches and players. 

Coach G started the Monroe Rec Lacrosse program in 2006, designed as the feeder program for the new Varsity Program at Monroe High School.  He was the President of the program from 2006 to 2017 seeing growth to 200 Rec players and 120 HS players and has been the Director of Coaching since 2018. Coach G also started the 5/6 grade East Brunswick Rec Program as a joint effort with Monroe and EB- coached from 1995 to 2006.    

We would like to send huge congratulations to Coach G for this great honor of being selected to be a member of the Johns Hopkins Lacrosse Board.
